Brigitte Burdine

- to December 29th, 2010

On behalf of the Burdine family, it is with great sadness to inform those reading this and/or who may have seen unexpected postings that Brigitte was tragically killed this morning (December 29, 2010) in a traffic collision. Brigitte was walking in the vicinity of Culver and Jefferson Boulevards in the Marina del Rey area just before 2am when she was struck by a motor vehicle. The driver of that vehicle left the scene.

Brigitte was transported to the hospital and they were not able to save her.

Brigitte has touched many people in many ways throughout her short life. She leaves behind her parents, brother, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many others. Her cheer, her smile, and outgoing personality will live with all of us.
Words cannot express the sadness that the family and many are feeling. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Roger Shrader

- to February 28th, 1980

Roger A. Schrader, a member of the class of 1980, died in a tragic automobile accident on the morning of February 28, 1980. Classmates and friends were stunned to hear of the news of Roger's death and critical injury of Roger's brother, Michael. A moment of silence sent prayers and thoughts to Michael and to Roger's friends and family.

Principal Bob Mullis said, "Roger was an excellent kid. He had never been in any trouble whatsoever. He was well-respected. He was just a good, quiet, all-around kid."

In a presentation concerning his Easter trip to Russia, Roger Shrader proclaimed, "I am proud to be an American. You do not understand what freedom is until you do not have the liberties that Americans take for granted."

Indeed, the thoughts and feelings of Roger's friends and family will be with him always.  - 1980 Arrowhead

John (J.B.) Sterling

- to June 19th, 1979

John Sterling, known to his friends as J. B., died on June 19, 1979. Although J.B.'s physical prescence is no longer with us, his spirit remains in our school and our hearts. J.B., a quiet spoken person, had many friends and acquaintances to which he shared his courage and good humor. Many people miss J.B., but they will always remember him as a brave, courageous person who smiled until the end.  -   1980 Arrowhead
